I am delighted to share with you all that I had the privilege of operating and demonstrating my technique for removing kidney stones by RIRS at PGIMER, Chandigarh. This remarkable experience took place in the first Annual Conference of Urolithiasis Section of Urological Society of India on 13th May 2023. I am grateful to Prof. & Head of Dept. of Urology, Dr. Uttam Mette, PGI, Chandigarh, Dr. S K Pal, and Dr. Harprit, Chairman & Secretary of Urolithiasis Section of Urological Society of India, for giving me this opportunity.
It was an incredible honour to showcase my technique to such an esteemed audience. I am confident that my approach will have a positive impact on patients who suffer from kidney stones. This experience has provided me with tremendous motivation to continue contributing to the field of RIRS.
I look forward to continuing to make a difference in the lives of my patients and sharing my experiences with all of you.

Designed a suction ureterorenoscope described as allowing lithotripsy with simultaneous evacuation of fragments/debris; the professional record states that it was manufactured by Richard Wolf GmbH, Germany.
Dr Pawan Kumar Gupta has designed a new Ureterorenoscope which has the provision of simultaneously lasing the stone and sucking the fragments and debris, thereby avoiding the need to remove the fragments by using stone holding foreceps and prevent repeated excursions in the Ureter. The scope has been manufactured by Richard Wolf GmbH, Germany and named as “Suction Ureterorenoscope by Pawan Gupta”
RIRS workshop at R P Stone Clinic, with live operative demonstrations. Organized by Urological Society of India with Dr. Pawan Kumar Gupta as organizing secretary
The workshop was attended by 200 Urologists from all over the country and abroad.
RIRS workshop at R P Stone Clinic, with live operative demonstrations. Organized by Dr. Pawan Kumar Gupta as organizing secretary
Attended by more than 100 Urologists from all over the country & abroad.
Live demonstration of RIRS transmitted to Heidelberg University Hospital in January 2024 under Semi Live 2024
European patent application, “Flexible Endoscope,” was published.
Low-profile access combined with a larger functional lumen for suction/fragment evacuation during flexible endoscopy.
A recurring theme in Dr. Gupta’s work is improving access, visibility and fragment management during ureteroscopic stone surgery.
In Journal of Endourology, Gupta reported an initial clinical series using a prototype ureteroscope with a small tip/shaft and offset eyepiece. The paper included 25 patients and reported 100% procedural success in the series, with no ureteral dilatation required.
A semirigid suction ureterorenoscope designed to permit lithotripsy while evacuating stone fragments and debris, reducing the need for repeated instrument excursions. It was subsequently manufactured by Richard Wolf GmbH, Germany.
Trusted by renowned insurance companies and healthcare partners across the country.
